In Zac's Memory
In memory of our newborn baby Zac, we would like to pay forward all the care and support we have received during the difficult times.

After a healthy 39-week pregnancy, Zachary 'Zac' Nicolas Knowles came to this world on the 14th of February. He is a beautiful little boy but he was silent when he was born. He was put on life support and air lifted to Dunedin NICU for six days until he passed away. Zac and us (his parents) were all looked after by the amazing team of doctors and nurses. Losing a baby is the worst nightmare to any parent. Zac is our dream come true but everything shattered after he was gone.
Despite the remarkable wonders of modern medicine, we want everyone to be aware that baby loss still sadly happens. It shouldn’t be just brushed under the carpet. We want our baby to be remembered and acknowledged.
To honour little Zac’s name, please help us raise funds for ‘The Neonatal Trust’- which looks after babies like him who needs special care after they are born and SANDS NZ (Pregnancy, Baby and Infant Loss Support)- supports bereaved parents like us, and supports studies for perinatal mortalities (deaths within pre/during/post pregnancy). We added ‘Lakes District Air Rescue Trust’ to help save more lives within Otago/Southland community.
The story of Zac may not have ended well but in his honour, please allow his short life make a difference to you and others too by making a contribution. Your generosity will help these charities to continue their services for babies, parents and families in need, as they have done for us.

Zac would've been 6 months old now 18 August 2021
4 days back, Zac would have been 6 months old bub, probably starting to crawl. I still can't help but think of what could have been with my wee boy. Andy and I are doing better, we cannot do it without all of your help. Thank you for the thoughts and prayers for friends and relatives from a far. And to all family, colleagues and friends nears us, thank you for your guidance and patience.
To all of you who have donated time and money for this fundraising, thank you very much. This means so much for us. We will update you once the chosen charities have received our help. I will be closing this fund/page in couple of days- exactly 6 months of Zac's passing- 20 August 2021. Feel free to share it again.
