Hi, I’m Ryan, just your average lad on a mission to make a positive impact for an awesome charity by completing the 2021 Taupo Iron Man while fundraising for Cure Kids along the way.
I’m always on the lookout for new ways to challenge myself, and this is by far the biggest challenge yet!
So why Cure Kids? I currently work at Recruit IT, who are partnered with Cure Kids. This drove me to look into the charity further, where I discovered the awesome work they do. I’m inspired by the research they carry out for kids and families in all walks of life that are facing some of the toughest challenges out there - both mental and physical. I want to raise awareness for these issues while also contributing through the funds of support my page receives.
I’ll be pushing my body beyond its extreme in three key disciplines; swimming (3.8km), cycling (180km), and finishing it off with a full marathon run (42.2km).
In the lead up to this event, I’ll be completing the Auckland Full Marathon and Tauranga Half Iron Man, before I fully take flight at the Full Iron Man in March.
I’ll be training almost every day in the lead up to this event and will appreciate any support along the way, both verbal support and fundraising support in the form of donations for Cure Kids; to get me through the 5am starts and 9pm or earlier granddad bedtime nights.
I’ve done a few triathlons and a couple of half marathons but nothing compares to the challenge in front of me.

Reached my 2nd initial target! 26 March 2021
