Jac and Laressa are Running for HELP

$923 of $500 goal
Given by 25 generous donors in 4 weeks

We’re in the Run for HELP team for Round the Bays 2019 to raise funds to support work with sexual abuse survivors.

Wellington

We’re signed up to run/walk 10 kms in Round the Bays 2019. Jac’s more of a swimmer so this is a bit of a hefty ask, while Laressa will be doing her fair share of motivational talk to get us over the line.

Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP's vision is a world free from sexual violence. They provide critical support, free of charge, to survivors of sexual assault and abuse, and their whanau. Their services include:

- a 24/7 crisis hotline,

- ongoing counselling and support,

- partnering with other groups to understand more about the impact of sexual violence in their communities and to deliver education around prevention, consent and respectful relationships.

Everyone knows someone who has been affected by sexual violence, and HELP is seeing an ever-increasing demand for their services. That’s why it's not just about #metoo, it’s #wetoo - recognising that we all need to support each other if we want to end sexual violence in Aotearoa New Zealand.

You can support us and the team in supporting HELP's work by:

1. Joining us! Sign up to shuffle, walk or run your way through any of the events at Round the Bays here: https://spw-register.tiktok.events/roundthebays2019. Join the HELP team by selecting the distance you’d like to participate in (21km, 10km or 6.5km), by clicking ‘join a team’, then searching for HELP in the search bar and selecting the Run for HELP team.

2. Contributing what you can through this page - all proceeds will be delivered directly into HELP's fundraising account.

3. Turning up on February 17 to cheer and offer support to any of the runners and walkers putting ourselves out there - look out for the 'NOPE' and #metoo #wetoo tshirts.
