Fundraising for The Solar Project, which provides solar lights to remote Fijian villages, by going without electricity for 40 hours.

Auckland

I’m helping raise money to provide solar lights to rural Fijian communities in need through the St Cuthbert’s College Power-Free for Fiji Challenge. The need for electricity in rural Fijian communities has never been greater.

Recent events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and recurring tropical cyclones have devastated many communities in Fiji, meaning that people living in rural areas don’t have access to light after the sun sets or are forced to rely on expensive, carcinogenic kerosene lamps. The impact on children is particularly damaging, as their ability to do schoolwork is severely limited by their lack of access to light. Our everyday actions make a difference in the world we live in. We must act now, help us to increase the economic opportunities and standard of living for those living in remote Fijian villages who do not have access to reliable sources of light.

Please help me make a difference by donating using the 'Donate' button. Every dollar helps, just $5 provides a solar light to a family in need.
