JJ's Hoops for HeartKids

Kia ora! My name is JJ Popham, I am 10 years old and live in Lyall Bay in Wellington.

I have set myself a "Hoops for HeartKids" challenge to shoot 624 points in two hours. Why 624 you ask?? Because every year, 624 babies are born with a heart condition in NZ and in 2010, I was one of them!

I was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries where the two main tubes of my heart were the wrong way. At 5 days old I had open heart surgery. I don't remember it but my Mum and Dad say it was a very uncertain and emotional time.

I want to use my love of Basketball to give back to HeartKids and say "Thanks" from me and my whanau for the practical and emotional support they gave during this time. Your kind donations will go 100% to HeartKids.
