Fundraising for I Am Hope Foundation
Auckland
On Monday, over 400 people gathered at a rugby club in Manurewa to celebrate the life of John Quayle. That number alone tells you everything about the man he was. Deeply loved, widely respected, and someone who brought people together.
What happened that day showed something else too.
Before the service had even begun, a young girl nearby was in crisis. The people in that car park, strangers and friends alike, all gathered because of John, responded without hesitation before emergency services could arrive. Those few moments may hopefully have saved a life. None of those people would have been there, at that moment, if not for John.
That is his legacy. Not just the lives he touched in living, but the lives that came together in honouring him.
This Givealittle page raises funds for I Am Hope, a New Zealand organisation supporting youth mental health. A donation here, in John's name, means his memory could help reach the next young person in crisis before it becomes an emergency.
John's friends showing up for him that day may have saved a life. Our donations, in his name, could save another.
Thank you from the Family and Friends of John
