By challenging ourselves, we can show my students they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Canterbury

With a keen sense of adventure and sheer determination Nicky & I are about to embark on the 3,000km Cape Reinga to Bluff Bike Tour of Aotearoa, starting on the 4th March. This is a challenging mountain bike ride throughout the county, biking 100-200km per day.

I have chosen YMCA South & Mid Canterbury as my charity. All funds raised will go back into the Y•Skills Outdoors programme to help fund buying equipment, also helping the students attend activities at the Peel Forest Outdoor Centre. The course enables students to gain NCEA level 2 and go on to future programs or employment. The course provides more than just qualifications, it gives them confidence and a sense of achievement.

I am so proud of the great work of my students. It’s also an opportunity to raise awareness of the YMCA South & Mid Canterbury. A chance to showcase our great organisation.

We are part of investing in the next generation.
