2 Corinthians 5 v 7
"For we live by faith, not by sight"
I chose this verse because a couple of months ago, I would never have guessed that I would be here writing up a Give a Little page to try raise funds for YWAM Nelson. But here I am, and I truly believe that this is the next step God wants me to take in my life- I just need to trust in God and let Him lead the way.
To be honest, this all still feels rather impossible as the DTS (Discipleship Training School) starts in a month (September) and God has just in these couple of weeks told me that this is the next step to take in my life.
So it's all a bit crazy, I don't really know what I'm doing, and as some of you may know my Muscular Dystrophy has made it really hard for me to find work to pay for the costs. But I do know that God is good and nothing on this planet is impossible to him. So I am just trusting and taking this step.
In this course, there is a 12-week lecture phase deepening your relationship with God and how to be on mission for him, followed by an 8-week outreach phase where you go out in the community, travel around NZ and put into practice what you have learned from the lecture phase.

YWAM update 18 November 2020
It is now week 11 in YWAM Nelson !!!!!!! I still cant believe I am here!! It has been the most incredible, beautiful, hard, fun weeks of my life and I am just so grateful to be here!
For all who donated, I really can't thank you enough. You have no idea how much it has meant for me to be able to be here❤️
Throughout these past weeks at YWAM, we have had people from all over NZ come and speak to us. Each one of the teachings has really spoken to my heart and really impacted me. It has only been 3 months almost, but these 3 months have been one of the most impactful months of my life.
I know who God is so much better, and I have seen things here that only God can do!! I have learnt so much about who I am in God and the purpose my life has, Ive been able to sing my heart out in worship, and pray and journey alongside his people. I've been able to build strong connections here, there has been some really good laughs and I really feel like I belong!!
I will never ever forget this chapter of my life and growth that I've had, I am just so thankful to God for placing me here. I just can't believe how much healing this place has brought not only me but every single student on this course. But of course its not YWAM, its all God! God has used YWAM for his healing over people. I would encourage anyone to do YWAM, the next course starts in Feb, and is for all ages!! We have some people 50+ here on the course and their lives have been transformed too!! If you have this longing in your heart to know more, do YWAM!! Its the most beautiful place!!
In a week and a bit, we are moving into the outreach phase of the course!!! We are packing up all our stuff and driving down to bluff to start our 2 month outreach in NZ and were all so excited!! The outreach is a prayer and worship walk all the way from Bluff to kaikoura and back to Nelson- we are having 3 teams. One a walking team, one a team that won't do much of the walking but instead help out in all the towns and cities we will pass on the way (this is my team! 🙌🙌), and a team that will do a bit of both.
This has been the best journey of my life, and I am just soooo thankful to be here!! I don't know what's next for me after DTS but I'm trusting and praying that God will show me the way!
