Keegan’s 50km for Cancer Support
On February 14th 2026, I’ll be running the 50km Tarawera ultramarathon in Rotorua to raise funds for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society.
This organisation doesn’t get any government support yet still provides essential support to individuals and families across our region from transport to treatment, to community nursing, to practical services that make an incredibly difficult time a little easier.
Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer whether that be a family member or friend, and the work they do genuinely matters.
If I’m going to challenge myself physically and mentally, I figured why not raise some funds along the way. Running 50km is tough, but supporting a cause that helps so many people makes every step worthwhile.
And I could probably do with the motivation when I’m regretting my life decisions at kilometre 42….
