It’s all feeling very real now.

I’ve done my last long run, and this week is about tapering, resting, and trusting the work. I’m eating plenty to build strength ahead of race day and looking after the basics.

The weather forecast is looking ideal, which is a bonus. Taupō is filling with other Ironman athletes arriving, and there’s a good buzz seeing them out training.

I’m feeling so much support behind me — and I’ll be needing all of it. Thank you for being part of this.

This week was a really good one for training and raising funds for CF.

Early Sunday morning, I biked a lap of the Ironman course to familiarise myself with the track. It was great to see it firsthand and start building confidence for race day.

I also met a few other athletes training in Taupō for the weekend, which was really motivating.

I had a swim lesson, focusing on being more efficient and shaving off a few seconds where I can. Small improvements, but they all add up.

I’m also feeling very grateful to ANZCO, who are supporting my journey. I’ve got a branded race kit sorted, and they'll be organising some support team events.

Thanks so much to everyone following along and supporting me through Givealittle.

Training is peaking now. This week was a big one and included my longest bike ride yet — 173km around Hawke’s Bay. 8 hours, hilly, and a real test, but I’m feeling really good and strong. Training is a bit less frequent now, but the stints are much longer.

Thank you to everyone who’s donated so far. Your support means so much to me, as well as all of the families in NZ living with CF
