We didn’t reach the target but did pretty well regardless and i humbly thank you all for the love & support and words of encouragement over the past couple of months! What we have raised will still help so many! So thank you!

This photo is at the end and my son is crying and wanting cuddles because mama is crying and wanting cuddles haha

I hope you are all well

  • We’re on week 7 of 12!

Last weekend we hit 19km in one go!

When starting this wero i had set up a training schedule which includes a total amount of kilometres that i need to walk each week.

Each week is then broken up into 3 days of short distance walking e.g 4km, 6km distances to help build on my walking distances.

And each week also includes “a long distance walk” which also increases each week to help work on endurance.

For week 6(HALFWAY MARK & also last week lol) i needed to walk a total of 35km for the week which was broken up into 2 days of 6km, 1 day of 4km and a long walk day 19km….

This weeks total is 40km! Stay tuned to find out whether i reach that total… i haven’t walked at all this week yet!……

  • !!Goal change!!

      18 June 2022

Alright e te iwi, I've adjusted the goal on this one because $42,900 was a tad too ambitious for little old me & it may be causing a little bit of anxiety LOL (i do it to myself, aroha mai). Still, I wanted the amount that I aim to raise for my 2 chosen charities to reflect my hikoi of 42.9km!

Instead, I have decided I would love to raise A MILLION BUT instead I will aim to raise $4290 per charity hence the total goal $8580!

A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED AND SHARED SO FAR!!! Much love and appreciation!

Still working on building my walking distance! Got caught in the rain the other day, which made me think! Will THE GREAT HIKOI still go ahead if it’s raining?

YES! Absolutely! Rain, hail or shine i will still be going ahead with the hikoi!

Once again thank you to everyone who has shared or donated! Much appreciation x

  • He mauiui ahau! (I am not well)!

      1 June 2022

    Tena koe koutou,

Givealittle graciously remind me to continue to update my page :) So here we go,

I haven't been able to do much training with my walking over the weekend until now as I am a bit unwell at the moment.

However, I have still been busy with admin work as 30 of my plus size clothing auctions have successfully closed on Trademe. I am yet to calculate how much $$ has been raised but again all proceeds will be donated to this page. So i must find the time and energy to get all the items sent off swiftly!

I am hoping to get back in training tomorrow... i am to achieve a total of 15km this week and haven't many days left to do them in. But we'll get there whanau!

Thank you again to everyone who has donated so far, i hope you are looking after yourselves!

Over the coming weeks i will continue to build on the KM's i walk and focus on things that need to be tweaked or changed in prep for THE GREAT HIKOI!!!! oh, by the way, that's what we're calling it now!
