Fundraising $500 to be able to go to Nepal in 2024!
Tawa, Wellington
Kia Ora,
My name is Campbell, a seventeen-year-old highschooler from Wellington, NZ. I'm fundraising for two main purposes: one is to support those living with leprosy over in Nepal, a country in South Asia, famous for its stunning mountains, exciting adventure offers like rafting and paragliding, and also it's dense diversity in culture and religion. However, there's another side, and that's leprosy, a serious infection that can damage the seriously skin and nervous system. Over 95% of the world is immune to it, but for those living with leprosy, many are too afraid to reach out and get help.
The Leprosy Mission here in NZ gives people under the age of 24 the chance to fly to Nepal every year, in which we learn and talk to those affected by the infection, visit community-based self-help groups, and complete a two-night trek in Nepal.
Therefore my second purpose for this page is to fundraise $500 by July 31st 2023 that proves I'm willing to take a step in a new direction and discover not just another country but come to be aware of what leprosy is. Little by little, cent by cent, smile by smile, we can pass the goodness along.
On my end, I'll be participating in a 10km run in the Gazley Volkswagen Wellington Marathon in June :)
Thanks!
