    It was agreed that New Years Day was the best day for the big chop! My twin brother made the first cut and then my sisters spent over two hours cutting, washing and brushing until no dreads remained. After a guessing competition the final weigh-in was 480g.

    I was blown away by the amount donated! Thank you so much to everyone who gave their support. It will take a while to get used to the new-do, but I’m proud to know that with your help we have made an important contribution to the crucial work Waipuna Hospice do every day!

  • “You’ve got this far…you might as well keep going!”

    I DID IT!! 🥳

    Thanks to all your generous donations I hit my target in time for Dads birthday today!

    I’m going to give Mum and all the family the duty of cutting off my dreadies off because we will all be home together for Christmas. This will be the first time since we lost Dad.

    I know Dad would be so proud of how far this fundraiser has got but I reckon he would say, “You’ve got this far…you might as well keep going!”.

    So I’ve decided to do just that and up my target! I’m so stoked I hit my goal but if I can raise even more for Waipuna - I’m going to try!!

  • Dread D-Day

    ⏳Just wanted to let you know I have extended my fundraiser out until the end of the year. I was going to make the cut for Dads birthday (10 Nov) but I am going home for Christmas and thought Mum would love nothing more than to cut them off (she’s been waiting A LONG time for this).

    ✂️ I’ll cut them off while Im home in December but will keep my page open to close on 1 Jan. I figure that’s a good way to start a new year! ❤️

  • How long are your dreads??

    I was asked the other day how long my dreads really are. The give-a-little profile picture is a few years old and doesn’t show their actual length - they are almost down to my knees!!

    I took this photo recently to give you an idea of how much hair is actually coming off!!

  • I’m already half-way to my goal!

    Wow! I’ve been so blown away by everyone who has jumped on board to support me and my fundraiser for Waipuna!

    In just under a month 12 generous donors have helped me to hit the half way mark!

    It’s all starting to get a bit real now. My next step is to find a hairdresser to “do the dread-deed” - I’ll keep you posted!!
