I would like to thank the Westpac Helicopter for helping me by doing a sponsored walk
Canterbury
My name is Louise Turner and on the 14th of January I fell off my horse and had a traumatic brain injury. I was taken to hospital by helicopter and was in ICU (Intensive Care) for about 30 days. When I was discharged from hospital (towards the end of february) I went to the Rehabilitation at Laura Ferguson on Ilam Rd. I was there for approx 4 months, (Inpatient rehab - June) relearnt to walk amongst a range of other things and walked out with a crutch. Since then I’ve progressed to walking without a crutch, relearnt how to ride a bike and started preparation work into completing my Ara Course (third year of architectural technology) I’ve had a lot of help to get back to where I am now which I’m very thankful for. It was nearly a very different story though and I’ll be forever grateful to the Wespac helicopter who were responsible for getting me to the hospital so fast. It costs them an estimated $8,000 per trip and I really want to thank them for their help. 100% of money raised will be donated to them. Thank you very much for your generosity.
I'm going to do a 5km walk as part of the Shoe Clinic Selwyn Running Festival
