Support this Nelson family as their daughter Izzy Lodge fights cancer.

Richmond, Tasman

This page is to help support the Lodge family as their daughter Izzy fights Ewings Sarcoma cancer.

We will be starting our fundraising by running & walking a half marathon on the 3rd of April, in place of the Nelson Half. This is a family friendly event with all ages involved! Show your support for our runners/walkers by donating to the Lodge family.

Izzys journey so far:

Izzy was diagnosed in Nov 2021. The cancer had developed in the spine which means surgery to remove the tumor is not an option. Izzy is relying on chemotherapy treatment for a year, coupled with radiation therapy, to treat the cancer.

By March 2022 Izzys cancer had begun to srink (yay!) but surgery was still too risky. It was decided she would undergo a course of radiation before going back into more months of chemo.

Izzy and her mum Jodie have been in Christchurch, often living at hospital since the diagnosis, a long way from their network of family and friends. There are ongoing additional and expenses that will be incurred by the family for medical, therapy, travel, food and accommodation.

With two younger siblings and Dad (Jez) back in Nelson, fundraising is going to be crucial in helping the Lodge family get through this difficult journey together.

If you can donate, any amount will be appreciated. The Lodge family would whole heartedly like to thank their community for support during this extremely difficult time.
