M-C fundraising for Key to Life - taking part in the Hands of Hope Fight Night, Masterton 1 September '18

Wellington

I put up a good fight with words, but there's no words (except swear words) that will help me out in this one!

I've put my name forward as a corporate boxer in the upcoming fight night in Masterton - Hands of Hope: https://www.facebook.com/events/971983999635961/ It's a a corporate boxing AND Muay Thai show, and the awesome people behind it, Fortitude Gym are choosing to give a portion of the proceeds to a charity - being KTL.

I'm currently getting pummeled in ten weeks of training, and we fight on 1st September, alongside actual real fighters (not at the same time, obvs). At this stage, it looks like I will get in the ring - but either way PLEASE help me support the Key to Life charity - I want to add some $$ to the donations that the gym are making.

So, all proceeds from this page go directly to KTL - and as someone who knows the challenges of mental illness, I cannot stress enough how important your donations are that enable them to continue the great work they do in communities throughout New Zealand. Check them out here: http://www.keytolife.org.nz/

Wairarapa actually owns the highest suicide rate per capita in New Zealand - so we're doing this to bring the conversation into the light to help break the stigma, raise awareness and show support to individuals and families affected by mental illness & suicide.

So please give generously. Every $1 or $2 is a step closer and makes all the difference.

thanks team

Some of the proceeds from the fight night are being donated to KTL, and I wanted to boost that number!

Match up confirmed!  14 August 2018

She could be young enough to be my daughter but all's fair in the ring, right?! Check out my smirk too - this pic was taken six weeks ago at the start of this crazy journey and I wasn't entirely sure what I'd gotten myself into! Adrenaline definitely flowing now!
