I will be running the 56th Rotorua Marathon in a weighted vest to raise funds for No Duff Charitable Trust and help support Veterans
Nationwide
The reason I have chosen to do this event and run the Rotorua Marathon this year is because No Duff Charitable Trust is funded through donations and with the help of volunteers. No Duff has helped myself and many of my peers throughout the Veteran community.
No Duff needs your help.
What is No Duff?
No Duff Charitable Trust is an independent, nationwide organisation that supports current and former Defence personnel (and their families) by providing a 24/7 crisis response capability, peer-to-peer support, or facilitation to / delivery of a range of other support services. The Trust also works closely alongside other organisations that can provider longer-term support to Veterans and their families in need.
No Duff provides immediate welfare support to members of the NZDF past and present, particularly veterans, in order to ensure that the mental, physical, and social health of all members is maintained at the highest possible level.
No Duff previously had a 24 hour response line, 365 days of the year to help those in need. Veterans throughout the country have volunteered to heed the call of a brother or sister in difficulty.
Due to a lack of funding, No Duff have had to cut back the response line by 90%.
No Duff also has a partnership with Overwatch Australia to provide help for Veterans and their families.
I will be running the 56th Rotorua Marathon in a weighted vest to raise funds for No Duff Charitable Trust to help them to continue to support Veterans in need.
