Marathon run in memory of Heather
Wellington
Kia ora koutou
I am running the Queenstown Marathon on the 14th of November in memory of my good friend Heather who sadly passed away in December last year from breast cancer. I'd love to raise funds for two incredible charities, the Mary Potter Hospice who took such wonderful care of Heather in her final days and the Wellington Womens Refuge, an organistion close to Heather's heart and one she volunteered at regularly.
Heather was a incredible person and friend. She was a no nonsense tough Scottish woman with a heart of absolute gold. So chatty and funny and full of life. Some of my favorite memories with her are dancing at concerts and swimming in the sea.
Our hearts were broken after Heather's passing and she is never far from our thoughts. I know she'd be delighted that I'm doing this run and raising funds for both these wonderful organisations in her honor. I'll be hearing her shouting "good for youuuu" in her sassy Glaswegian accent as I pump my legs over the next few weeks.
Anyway, thank you for visiting my page and I'd so appreciate any donations.
Cheers
Ivan
