Fundraising for Mary Potter Hospice by running, skipping and walking our hearts out at Round the Bays 2021.

Wellington

The Hospice currently has a 12-bed Inpatient Unit in Wellington and Community Palliative Care bases in Wellington, Paraparaumu and Porirua. They also provide care and support to people and family in their own homes. Mary Potter Hospice’s services are jointly funded by donations and the Capital & Coast District Health Board.

The hospice is currently developing an apartment complex on Mein Street to help with long term funding of its Hospice operations. With 39-unit apartments, the complex will be run as a social enterprise, and the rental income will be put back into the Hospice to fund services.

The building of the apartments is possible because of a very large donation, tagged to building an income-earning apartment complex to provide an ongoing income stream. Costing over $12 million to run the hospice, the income from the apartments will supplement money raised through charity shops, bequests, grants, events and other fundraising.

McKee Fehl is thrilled to be the Constructor for these apartments helping to bring the hospice’s vision to life. Our enthusiastic site team are keen to deliver a successful, high quality and cost-effective project for the hospice.

Round the Bays is much more than a fun event, it is also our chance to give back to our community by raising funds and building awareness for this charity who need our support.

Stephen Cummings, General Manager, McKee Fehl, said: “We are delighted to enhance our working relationship with Mary Potter Hospice. It goes without saying, we firmly support the organisation’s social and entrepreneurial vision and the opportunity this development creates for the charity and the wider Wellington community.”
