Fundraising for I Am Hope

Auckland

Hey, Margit Here!

I wanted to share with you all why you see me train so much and what is behind it all. I train for Endurance Events as it keeps my Mental Wellbeing in check and really aligns with how I feel about life. One big Endurance Event that will throw everything from personal injury, to grief, loss and just plain getting lost, at any of us.

TRAINING - MY WHY:

My own mental health struggles to the mental wellbeing of those I love. The physical side of Endurance Training has helped start to balance the Mental Wellbeing Endurance I need to live a better life. Be a better parent, friend and human being.

THE GOAL?

Tarawera Ultra TUM50 - 2023, TUM102 - 2024, TUMMiler - 2025 are coming for me. https://www.taraweraultra.co.nz/race-options/overview TuM50 February 11, 2023 is the first of 3 events that I will participate in to raise money and awareness for Mental Wellbeing on behalf of I am Hope. (Key to Life). TUM102 - 2024, TUMMiler - 2025 will follow respectively.

WHAT NOW?

So here we are. Like for like. Mental Wellbeing Endurance in the form of Physical Wellbeing Endurance I would like to see us all come together for this cause and collectively raise more awareness surrounding how families become connected with the services I Am Hope offers.

Over the Finish Line for Tum50 2023!  14 February 2023

This weekend well and truly kicked off what we are now calling the “Tarawera Triple Threat” I AM HOPE Campaign: 2023 - 2025. We have accomplished the first of three Endurance Events and would like to express our deepest gratitude for your support and generosity to I AM HOPE thus far. Also huge props to my support team Martina Rivas Barreras it was amazing to see you on the course x

100 percent excited to share that I was able to successfully complete the TUM50 Ultra Marathon in just under 8 hours - 7 hours, 45mins, injury FREE!. I am now gearing up for the next challenge, the TUM102 2024 , followed by the TUMMILER in 2025. I have set it up this way to demonstrate that raising awareness for Mental Health is never a one off. It is on the daily for anyone struggling with mental health issues. It’s on the daily, support is needed. It’s on the daily, we show commitment to the well being of others and ourselves.

Huge events like the LIVE 🔴► Tarawera Ultramarathon By UTMB 2023 require a daily commitment in order to reach the goal. The goal of getting mental health services into the lives of those that need them, also requires daily commitment. Sometimes it feels like what you are doing may not make much of a difference at all. This is when you get a back bone and press on towards your goals, and remember YOUR WHY.

Endurance Training - MY WHY:

My Why is to keep in balance my own mental wellbeing as well as supporting the mental wellbeing of those I love and care about. The physical commitment to Endurance Training has helped me balance the Mental Wellbeing Endurance I need to live a better life. Be a better parent, friend and human being.

Your support and encouragement for the Tarawera Triple Threat Campaigns will get more services to those who need them through I AM HOPE. Donations to the current campaign for the Tarawera Ultra TUM50 has so far raised over $1400. Amazing way to kick off our fundraising for I AM HOPE.

We are ordinary people striving to make an extraordinary difference, where that difference could be a matter of life or death. As per Mike King I AM HOPE - One step, one km, one conversation closer to changing one more life. It starts with one. YOU.
