Key to Life raises money to pay councellors who support those struggling with their mental health. And that's good for all of us

Every now and then, a chance conversation with a stranger lights a spark in you.
4 months ago, I was introduced to a dad from my daughter's new school by a friend. This guy, in his mid-40s, competes in several triathlons a year 'despite' having 8 kids. Told that I was an ocean swimmer, he asked if I swum 5 km - yes I had.
"What about 10 k?"
"Oh, no I haven't."
And with a slight glint in his eye, he replied, "Hmmm.... not really an ocean swimmer then, are you?"
As with many things in lile, it's not what is said, but what you hear. I loved it !
So', on April 21st 2019, I'm doing the Auckland Marathon 10 km swim from St Heliers , around Browns Island and back and I'm looking for sponsors to donate to the Mike King's Key to Life Charitable Trust.
Swimming has been a valuable key in learning to manage my own state of mind, and I'm blessed to have it.Support those who are looking for their key.
Mental health has always been an interest since my days as a youth worker, particularly male youth mental health. Mike King has been a tremendous force for good in this field and Key to Life puts money to the frontline.
