Mini fundraiser half marathon run
I'm running a half marathon to raise money for Crofton Downs Primary School

I am Amanda O'Hagan: I have Conor in Year 1, Kym in Year 3 and Robyn in Year 4. I have been running for about 2.5 years.
I am running the Wellington half marathon on 1st July to raise money for Crofton Downs Primary School. My idea is that every family donates $1 for each of their own children that attends the school, and so raise about $250 in total. We have 3 children at the school, so we will donate $3.
The money raised will go towards the next level of the reading programme 'Quick 60', run by teachers and trained parents, which helps strengthen literacy in children.
A half marathon is 21km, and the event will go ahead whatever the weather. I expect it will take me about 2 hours to run it. Your donation will also motivate me to keep training and run on the day!

Thanks Rebecca! It wasn't as bad as you would imagine. Once I was running, I didnt notice the rain. There were very srong winds but only for about 5km of the course. That was hard going, running against the wind, but once i turned towards Oriental Bay, it died down and it was calm. Please pass on thanks to Manon and Luca.
