Fundraising for The Little Miracles Trust

Nationwide

In April I’m setting off to walk the Camino de Santiago, an 800km pilgrimage across France and Spain, before heading down to Portugal. All going to plan, this should take me around 2 months, covering 1000km on foot ... an epic adventure across the Iberian Peninsula!

They say that miracles happen all the time on the Camino. So, as part of this adventure, I am fundraising for the Little Miracles Trust, a charity that supports the families of premature babies - the most powerful miracles of all. Around 1 in 10 Kiwi babies spend time in a NICU or SCBU - that's over 5,800 little Kiwis every year.

This is a charity that is very close to my heart, and I've seen its incredible impact as a volunteer during my studies at the University of Otago. A long time ago, two of my best friends spent time in a NICU, so I am incredibly grateful for the support the Trust was able to provide.

Please join me on this adventure and help turn every step of the Camino into support for the Little Miracles Trust! Anything you are able to donate is greatly appreciated.

Journey Completed!  9 June 2026

After 7 weeks of walking, 52 days in total, I’ve arrived at Porto’s Sé Cathedral, marking the end of my journey of ~1321km!

After reaching Santiago de Compostela, I walked to the Atlantic Ocean, (a route known as Camino Finisterre), to an area the Romans called ‘The end of the world’. Then, I followed the Camino Portuguése down to Porto, along Portugal’s wild coast.

A huge thank you to the friends and strangers alike who helped me throughout this journey, and for all the support I received from back home <3

So far your generosity has raised over $2000 for The Little Miracles Trust!!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
