Miss Auckland Fundraising 2018- YOUTHLINE NZ

I am Nikita Horan, and I am lucky enough to be a finalist for Miss Auckland 2018. Miss Auckland encourages young girls like myself to get involved with community, a part of this is fundraising for our chosen charity, Youthline NZ

Although I have many fundraisers in stall for Youthline NZ, I wanted to create a space where family and friends that aren't able to attend these fundriasers, to come where they can still have the opportunity to help towards this worthy and deserving New Zealand charity.

Youthline is a support service for youth throughout New Zealand where they can communicate and recieve help with problems as well as development, from the volunteers and supporters. Youthline provides a 24/7 service that can be reached through telephone, text, webchat and email. Last year Youthline recieved a total of 298,730 contacts for help. 1 in 3 of these were related to suicide, depression, self-help and anxiety. Each year it costs Youhtline $800,000 to run these services whilst they are only funded a total of $87,000 from the goverment per year. New Zealand sadly has one of the highest youth suicide rates in the developing world.

Statistics like these are the reason Youthline needs our help. All donations, big or small, count and are so greatly appreciated.
