A Girl Called Hope offers a future for young girls in need and relies on the generosity of people making donations.
Auckland
Kia ora,
My Name is Jessica Manthey and I am a Miss Auckland 2016 Finalist. A significant part of our journey is to raise funds and awareness for a charity that is close to our hearts. Therefore, making the choice of 'A Girl Called Hope' was easy to me. I hope to not only inspire the strong woman that go through A Girl Called Hope but also inspire whoever looks into this page and supports me will do the same. Whether it's creating a small event, making others around you aware of this charity, or simply supporting me.
At the heart of A Girl Called Hope's approach is a residential programme, which addresses the root, causes of the girls issues. The focus is on teaching the girls to understand who they are and how they can become restored physically, emotionally and spiritually.
My involvement with this charity is nothing new, however, as a Miss Auckland finalist, a significant part of my journey is to raise awareness and funds for a charity that is close to my heart, which is A Girl Called Hope.
Miss Auckland pushes each finalist outside their comfort zone and to think outside the square. The best thing is our efforts during this process will not only inspire us but will inspire those who are affected by our contribution and community involvement.
My biggest goal is to inspire those that are reading this, the members of the public and supporters that come to my fundraising events and my family. When we all work together, our effectiveness is greater!
Nga mihi mahana,
Jessica
