Tauranga proudly brings you The "Mount" Everest challenge - raising funds for our local beach heroes, the Mount Maunganui, Omanu and Papamoa Surf Lifesaving Clubs. These guys keep us safe on the beaches and go above and beyond time and time again to save lives. We've already raised over $30,000 since the challenge started.
How does it work? We’ve discovered that if you climb the Mount (Mauao) 38 times, you climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest!
There are hundreds of people in the Bay doing just that – climb the Mount 38 times in 50 days, from Friday February 13th to Friday April 3rd. If you do not have any one person you wish to sponsor but would like to support our local surf lifesaving clubs directly, you can by making a donation to the cause on this page.
