A year long community fitness challenge raising funds for the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.
Waikato
In 2026, we're committing to move our bodies regularly - not for medals or personal bests, but to support better mental health across Aotearoa.
This is a community challenge built around inclusion and consistency. Participants choose activities that work for them:
- Gym/strength training
- Running/walking
- Swimming/biking
Every session, kilometres, and effort contributes towards shared community goals.
Mental health affects every family, workplace, and community in New Zealand. By moving together over 12 months, we're raising funds and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation NZ, helping ensure more people can access support, education, and resources.
We have chosen to do this over a 12 month period, not because we wanted a long time to get donations, but because we see Mental health as something that takes time to work on. We will see 4 seasons over the year as well as ups and downs in work, family and friends which impact us in many different ways.
Yearly goal for movement across NZ is:
• 🏋️ 1,500 gym sessions
• 🏃 3,000 km run / walk
• 🏊 300 km swimming OR 🚴 6,000 km cycling
3 Tiers to choose from:

• Swim 1 km or Bike 20 km per month

• Swim 2–3 km or Bike 40–60 km
