#MovingForMargot
Canterbury
Those of you who know me best, know that my favourite thing in the world to do is hang out with all my incredible nieces and nephews.
They're all pretty awesome, but my youngest niece Margot is literally one in a billion. Margot has the most beautiful smile, and her laugh is the most incredible and contagious sound in the world. It really lights up my day.
But Margot also has PCH6 - an incredibly rare genetic condition that affects every aspect of her development - her hearing, vision, speech, feeding, movement and control over her body. She is almost three but doesn’t yet sit, crawl or talk. She fights hard every day, but she needs a lot of intervention to help her on her journey to be more independent.
So, to help her get moving, I've taken on a couple of challenges. The first is to complete the 27km Coastal Ultra in the Catlins on April 10th. It'll be the longest distance I've ever run (though to be honest, I'll probably be walking a lot of it) - it won't be pretty, and it won't be fast. But I'm determined to finish so that maybe I can return a little of the inspiration that she gives me. I'm #MovingForMargot!

I'm Margot's aunty, and I'm running the Coastal Ultra 27km race in the Catlins on April 10th to raise funds for her treatment.
