Nina's 70 for 70 Journey - Giving Back to Epilepsy NZ
Waikato
Hi! My name is Nina and I'm taking part in the 70 for 70 challenge to give back and help raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy New Zealand, who support me and so many others in New Zealand living with Epilepsy. Around 40,000 people in New Zealand live with epilepsy.
I was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy earlier this year although I have had epilepsy since I was a baby. My epilepsy had gone unnoticed due to the types of seizures I was having. Epilepsy NZ has supported my family by educating them about epilepsy and talking to me when things seem really unfair - why do I have to have epilepsy?!
This challenge is also part of achieving my Gold Graduate Profile in Outdoor Education, which is part of my learning at my school. My goal is to achieve my Gold Graduate before I leave for college (next year).
Please support my challenge and help make a difference for everyone living with epilepsy.
I've set myself a goal of raising $700 for Epilepsy NZ by undertaking in the following challenges:
Walking 7kms
70 sit ups
70 push ups
70 lunges
7 x 100 meter sprints
7 minutes of skipping
Hold a plank for 70 seconds
Skip for 7 minutes
Thank you for reading about why I am fundraising and thank you for helping me achieve my goal to give back to Epilepsy NZ.
Nina Carson (13 years old).
