My Hair for Hope: Kim’s Cancer Research Fundraiser

This September is my birthday month, and instead of gifts, I’m asking for something more meaningful: donations to support cancer research.

September also marks two years since I lost my Dad to cancer. Watching someone you love go through that battle is something I’ll never forget, and it’s a big part of why this cause is so important to me.

At the end of the month, I’ll be shaving my head and donating my hair to be made into wigs for people affected by cancer treatment. It feels like a fitting way to both honour Dad’s memory and raise funds to help others facing the same fight.

Cancer touches so many of us — whether through a parent, a partner, a friend, or our own personal journey. Funding research is how we move closer to better treatments, prevention, and ultimately, a cure.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Whether it’s the price of a coffee or something larger, your contribution goes directly towards helping researchers continue their vital work.

🎂 Since this is my birthday fundraiser, my wish is simple: let’s turn generosity into impact. By the time the clippers come out and my hair hits the floor, I’d love to know that we’ve raised something incredible together — for Dad, for everyone touched by cancer, and for a future with more hope.
