We are a proudly Māori and Pasifika charity working to bridge the disparity experienced by Rangatahi/Autalavou in Porirua.
Nationwide
Our vision is of a diverse and thriving Porirua community that celebrates Pasifika and Māori culture, and supports our rangatahi (youth) to become rangatira (leaders).
We do this by providing a Hāpori Fale (Youth Hub) for Māori and Pasifika Rangatahi/Autalavou from Porirua, with empowering programs that help them discover their full potential. Here they learn, inspire, create and then share those skills with the wider community.
Our Hāpori Fale focuses on 4 main pillars:
Rainbow Moana Creatives: MVPFAFF+ (which stands for: Mahu Vahine (Tahitian), Mahu Wahine (Hawaiian), Palopa (Papua New Guinea), Fa’afafine (Samoan), Fakaleiti (Tongan), Akava’ine (Cook Islands Māori), Fiafifine (Niuean). and Takatāpui, Whakawahine of the Moana
Tipu Te Maara Matauranga (Flourishing Garden of Knowledge): Educational programmes, Internships, Programmes In schools.
Moana Creatives: Cultural Arts, Performing Arts
Kapa Haka, Samoan, Tongan, Kuki Airani and Contemporary.
Nu'u Manaaki (Community Service)
The Hāpori Fale is such an essential part of the Porirua community and we need your support to buy a van so that we can best support our rangatahi, so they can become the Ngā rangatira mo apōpō (leaders for tomorrow)! Can you help?
gā Uri o Whiti Te Rā (NUOWTR) Mai Le Moana Trust is proudly Pasifika and Māori owned; driven to support our Porirua Community since 2013.
