Please support the staff and students at the NHS Northland Unit as we attempt to walk 90 miles and raise money for this worthy cause.
Northland
Kind Hands offer respite care for children under 6, who have a disability, are medically fragile or are technology dependent. These families face huge challenges every day.
At the Northern Health School, we understand some of the challenges faced by these families. Our students attend our school because they are unable to attend their regular schools due to illness or injury. We work with them until they are able to transition back to their school or into tertiary education or employment. Our students range from 5 - 19 years and their own journeys have often been difficult due to either physical or mental health issues.
This year our Northland unit is focussing on the theme of "Inspiring Kindness", and we think that giving back to a worthy cause, and getting some exercise while we do it, will enhance the lives of those on the receiving AND giving ends of the spectrum.
The Northern Health School Northland Unit theme for the year is "Inspiring Kindness". We think Kind Hands is such a valuable service in our community and would like to give back in some way.
