Kakepuku x 10 challenge: Climbing for those living with MND and Huntington's Disease
Nurse climbing 75km for MND and HD
Te Awamutu, Waikato
Hello!! On the 18th November 2023 I am going to battle my way up Mount Kakepuku 10 times in 24 hours to raise awareness and funds for people living with Motor Neurone and Huntington's Disease.
Kakepuku is in Waipa district of NZ, 449m elevation and approximately 7.5km return trip.
While I will definitely suffer through a lot of the 75km it will be nothing compared to what people living with these conditions do everyday.
Both neurological conditions are rare and life limiting. As a neurology nurse who looks after people with these illnesses in the Waikato I am motivated to raise FUNDS and AWARENESS of these rare diseases.
The funds raised will be split between two charities, MND New Zealand and MS Waikato, to assist with ongoing psychological support for patients and families.
Please come along to support me, do a climb or two for a loved one and donate to make peoples lives a little easier with MND and HD.
