On a mission to raise Mental Health Awareness and normalise it.

Auckland

Well looks like were doing this! Well the first leg of the trip is via plane ..... :) My legendary blister is travelling from NZ to London take part in the London to Brighton Cycle Race - 54miles!! Not far for many but far for us :) ... With 8 weeks training involved we have set ourselves a mean task - we are hoping adrenalin will carry us through on the day!

This is a very personal ride for us for so many reasons. Those that know us know Mental Health Awareness is a topic close to our hearts and we want to help normalise conversations around it so people get help early and don't suffer and isolate themselves. Not only for patients but for their carers and families. If we can change how people experience around mental health issues we can all just start viewing it like having a cold/any other illness get help quickly and keep on living....

The Key to Life Chartiable Trust has done amazing work educating people on the issues of mental health awareness and suicide. We wanted to find a charity that was focused on solutions and what wonderful work they have done.

So people, get involved, have conversations, be vulnerable! If anyone wants to join us feel free! I believe there are still tickets :) . We could do with all the support we can get!!

Much love you to all people...

4 weeks and counting...  21 May 2018

Amazing ride through the New Forest today, the weather was wicked! Perfect for dusting off the cycling shorts and heading out on the bike.

I must admit at the 6 mile mark I was wanting to head home and how easy it would be to go and chill in the sunshine for the rest of the afternoon. Then I had a quick word with myself and reminded what I signed up for and how this battle pales in comparison to what other people go through. So I jumped back on my bike and carried on.

The rest of the ride was lovely, thanks Andy for all the support coming out training with me. Attempting to keep up with you has definitely upped my times!!! I eventually got my chill in the garden after 30 miles.

We are still actively fund raising The Key To Life who do such fantastic work - please dig deep if you can...

Wish us luck.... Thanks guys! xxx
