Running a marathon with no training to raise funds for victims of Cyclone Gabrielle
Wellington
Alright, alright, alright, this could well be a very stupid idea, but certainly not my stupidest… after seeing all the destruction and sh*t that has happened recently to our Land of Pleasure, I became enraptured with the thought of somehow giving back in some way, shape or form.
So, after not much consideration at all, I’ve decided to run a marathon next Saturday in the hopes of raising a bit of coin for those affected by Cyclone Gabi. However, here’s the catch - my training regime has been next to nothing. In the last few months I’ve vaped up a storm, drank enough RTDs to sink a submarine, and the only real running I’ve done has been between Lulu and The Horn. Nevertheless, I figured that the victims of the cyclone weren’t prepared for such chaos, so why should I be? I’ll probably be slower than a dead snail running the damn thing, but that’s not really the point.
