In remembrance of Nate; I will be running 100kms in a day to raise funds for men's mental health in March 2026
Wellington
In March 2026, I’ll be running 100km in one day to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health, an issue that’s deeply personal to me.
Last year, I lost my best friend Nate to suicide. His passing left a hole in my life, but it also opened my eyes to how many men are silently struggling. Too often, we’re taught to “tough it out,” to keep our feelings to ourselves and it’s costing lives.
This run isn’t just about the distance. It’s about starting conversations, showing that it’s okay to speak up, and proving that with consistency, connection, and courage, we can do hard things together.
I’ve set myself a big goal: 100km in one day. That’s 13 hours+ of running, to honour Nate’s memory and to support every man out there who feels alone. If you want to follow along, I will be posting training videos, alongside talking about my own struggles and why I'm doing this, and hopefully create a safe environment where men can talk openly. I’m pledging $10 for every kilometre I run but I can’t do this alone. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to creating awareness, funding support services, and changing the stats around men’s mental health in New Zealand.
20 days to go! 9 March 2026
Hey team,
I really appreciate all the support. Yesterday marked the last big training day with a 65 km run. From here it’s all about maintaining fitness, staying healthy, and getting ready for the big one.
March 29th is the day. We’ll be starting around 6:00 AM and running until the 100 km is done.
Thanks again to everyone who’s been backing this, it means a lot. 💪
Thanks mate. Really appreciate that
Thanks Neil.
