In December 2019 when I was 11 I was diagnosed with cancer. I had to leave my home, dog and friends to get my treatment. I had 6 months of chemotherapy, 5 weeks of radiotherapy then a year of maintenance chemo plus many surgeries. In this time I lost my hair and a bit of my childhood (both meant a lot to me).
About 6 months after finishing my hardcore chemo I had my first camp. I was really nervous as it was my first time being seen without my wig and it was the first time being away from my parents since being sick. Walking in leaving my parents behind I had no idea what to expect but I had nothing to worry about, Camp Quality was the most amazing experience. I met my amazing companion Xanthe, made lifelong friends and I learnt that cancer doesn't define me. Camp Quality has given me opportunities to just be myself and gave me that bit of childhood I missed out on. Going to camp is the highlight of my year and I'm really excited to be fundraising for them. Raising money for camp quality will mean they can keep changing kids' lives like how they changed mine.
My goal since getting better is to challenge myself to do something scary every year and I couldn't think of any better way to raise money for camp quality (and to scare my mum even more than I already have) is by jumping out of a plane as high as possible and I would love your help to achieve this.
Thank you so much for your support x
