Raising funds for I Am Hope

In November 2022, I lost my late husband suddenly and the ripples effects on whanau, friends and people who knew Ian was huge. I wanted to do something imapctful but also honour my late husband and what better way than to have a day in honour with a sport he loved.

The first year, we raised funds to give back to charity in Ireland that paid for all costs of my late husbands, Ian Flanagan, body to be returned back to Ireland, last year, we raised funds for I AM HOPE and happy to supporting them again this year.

I wanted to raise funds this year for a charity that makes an impact in the mental health space so what better charity than ‘I Am Hope’. We are excited about raising funds to give back to this amazing charity. I AM HOPE has one goal - positive societal attitudinal change. Prevention is important when it comes to mental health, and this charity provides the foundations for our youth by providing a free service and making a connection between youth and counsellors and allowing them to be able reach out to someone in what can be dark moments in their lives.
