Walking 200km throughout August in honour of Malachi, to raise money for Baby Loss New Zealand
Nationwide
In August 2022 our beautiful 11 month old son Malachi passed away suddenly. In honour of Malachi, throughout this August I will be walking 200km to raise money for Baby Loss NZ. Baby Loss NZ are one of the super rare charities actively supporting parents who have lost their baby; Baby Loss NZ are reliant on donations to continue this amazing work!
When Malachi was in hospital Baby Loss NZ took moulds of Malachi’s hands and feet. They gave us one set nicely framed with Malachi’s name and another set to hold. In a time where I couldn’t comprehend that I would never ever get to hold my baby’s hand again or touch his little toes, the thoughtfulness of this is indescribable. Every Loss Parent should be able to have these moulds of their angel!!!
When we collected them we placed a butterfly for Malachi on the ceiling next to all the other angel babies.
Every October on Baby Loss Awareness day the team at Baby Loss New Zealand spend hours on live stream saying each Angel’s name and lighting a candle for them. This is one time of the year all the Loss parents and their family’s get to hear their baby’s name spoken out loud and heard by many others.
Baby Loss New Zealand also provide care packages with memory making items.
Unfortunately, there are other parents who are having to live the nightmare of saying goodbye to their baby.. I know times are tough right now but if you can spare $1 every little bit counts to helping Baby Loss New Zealand continue to provide these vital supports.
