Kia Ora,
I’m stepping far outside my comfort zone and getting tossed off the rafters of Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, abseiling down to support Southern Youth Development and the amazing work they do with rangatahi in our community. Heights are not my thing, but I’m more than willing to face that fear for a cause that is close to my heart.
Southern Youth Development runs youth programs that support our tamariki and rangatahi, helping them make positive choices, stay off the streets, and move towards bright futures. These services are a lifeline and it’s more important than ever that we help keep their doors open.
Rangatahi hold a special place in my heart. As someone passionate about education and supporting our next generation, I truly believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. I carry with me the values of community, care and kotahitanga as I take on this challenge.
I’m aiming to raise $1,000, and with your support we can help ensure these life changing programs continue to uplift the youth of Ōtepoti and beyond.

Goal fast approaching – Help Us Take More Youth to the Top!
Dear Friends & Supporters,
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve nearly reached our initial fundraising goal for the Alternative Education Youth Programme at SYD!
Your support has made it possible to help towards the required essential initiatives programme that give young people in our community a chance through a more flexible, empowering approach. Thank you for being part of this achievement!
But the journey doesn’t end here.
We’re now aiming higher—every additional $1,000 raised will allow at least one more young person to take part in the upcoming abseil challenge (Toss the Boss) May 23rd 2025. This event is not just a thrilling experience—it’s a powerful symbol of personal growth, courage, and overcoming barriers. For many of the youth, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to feel truly accomplished and supported.
By helping us go beyond our original goal, you’re not just funding a youth programme—you’re backing real, life-changing moments.
