To honour the memory and name of Ka’Lylah-Jay
Wellington
I’m raising funds to help remember and honour the loving memory of my niece Ka’Lylah-Jay.
Please help me do so by donating to Baby loss NZ and spreading her name far and wide.
Below is in her mothers words..
At the 20week gestational scan Ka’Lylah-Jay was diagnosed with Transposition of the greater arteries-D. Approximately 1 in every 3500 babies are born with it (in America) approximately 10per year in NZ . At birth it was discovered Ka’Lylah-Jay was more sick than expected and in short the drs didn’t expect her to live through the first surgery. Ka’Lylah-Jay had her first open heart surgery at 14hrs old (this surgery is usually done at 7 days old). Ka’Lylah-Jay surpassed life expectancy that medical professionals put on her and to us that speaks volumes on how strong our girl is, her journey from there was always going to be hard but she didnt give up and neither did we. At 11days old Ka’Lylah-Jay had let us know it was time and she fought hard but her fight was over.
So the day Ka’Lylah-Jay passed Sarah (baby loss NZ) came and took some mold’s of babies feet and hands, and so now we have those that we can hold and cherish. They also took prints of her feet and hands and from those we were able to get tattoos drawn and now we have her on us forever
But also just they love she was given by Sarah, Sarah treated Ka’Lylah-Jay with so much love and respect. And what Sarah does for other families is truly special
