Participating in FFC Kidscan1000 - riding 1,000 km in a week to help kiwi kids

Nationwide

KidsCan is an absolutely brilliant charity helping support kiwi kids. KidsCan provides food, jackets, shoes and health products to children in poverty so they can fully participate in school and have the opportunity for a brighter future.

Ten years ago the Fat Fathers Cycling team (FFC) hit the road from Christchurch to Queenstown and raised $170,000, helping Kidscan support 800 children across 4 schools.

This year we are upping the ante. In November 2026 we'll ride 1,000km from Wellington to Taupo, including the round the lake challenge (>14,000m elevation) with a goal of raising over $200,000 to help 1,000 kiwi kids.

Every dollar you give goes directly to KidsCan and helps change a child's life.

FFC ride for Kidscan

We’re riding to raise money for Kidscan and help kiwi kids to learn with food in tummies, shoes on feet, and rain jackets to stay dry.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
