Marathon Time!
Waikato
In July 2016 my nephew Caenan who was 5 at the time was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. As you are probably all aware this was a shock to everyone. However, this amazing boy has taken everything in his stride! Alongside his amazing family they have ensured Caenan leads a life like every other boy of his age. He is an amazing sportsman who loves to play cricket, football and will give everything a go without any hesitation.
As Caenan's aunty I have seen first hand what he and his parents deal with on a daily basis. From finger pricking, injections, highs, lows etc. (This aunty was stressed taking him to the zoo! ringing his mum every 2 minutes trying to understand his digits)
SO I have decided to challenge myself and run a Marathon! This will take place on the 12th May. I want to do this to in some small way raise funds for these awesome organisations who provide the families with so much help and support.
I have chosen Diabetes Youth Waikato as the charity as Caenan will directly be supported by them in upcoming events, camps and a great network group for not only Caenan but Emerson his younger brother and Cherie and Gavin.
Motivate to help an amazing organisation who provides camps and events for youth that have Type 1 Diabetes
