Running to support Youthline Central North Island, for volunteer support line, counselling and youth work
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
After a knee reconstruction in January, I set this goal to run a half-marathon in November, it was an
achievable goal to begin with, however after year filled with set backs and other injuries, crossing
the finish line without a leg brace, cast or moon boot will be an achievement itself. This run both
with its physical and mental challenges can bring attention to mental and physical struggles our
youth face on a daily basis.
As a charity organisation, Youthline relies on the support of partners, funders and the community to
provide support to young New Zealanders. Although the time line is short, something is better than
nothing and I would love to give back to an organisation that I have seen first hand support those in
need. Money raised will go towards supporting the services that the Youthline Palmerston North
Centre provides.
One Week to go 10 November 2022
There is only just over a week to go before the big day, training has been going well, even through I lost my running partner I have continued on and am increasing my distances each week. There have been no injury set backs thankfully and I have been discharged from my surgeon which is a step in the right direction. Thanks to everyone that has made a donation so far. Looking forward to heading to Queenstown next week :)
Thank you so much for your support :)
