I'm running 100km in April to raise awareness for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).
Auckland
Hello, I'm Holly and I have been living with PMDD for the past 10 years. April is PMDD Awareness Month, and I’m raising funds to help shine a light on Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) – a severe mental and physical disorder that affects people with periods during their luteal phase of their menstrual cycle.
With a lack of research, understanding, and accessible treatment, PMDD can feel isolating, overwhelming, and impossible to live with. Sadly, I’m not alone in this. Thousands of people suffer in silence, struggling to maintain relationships, careers, and their day-to-day lives due to the debilitating impact of this disorder.
The symptoms of PMDD are wide-ranging, including severe mood swings, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and intense physical pain. Despite the devastating impact it has on so many lives, treatment options remain limited because PMDD is still under-researched and underfunded.
By raising awareness and funds, we can help drive the change that’s desperately needed – whether that’s supporting research, improving treatment options, or breaking the stigma around menstrual health and mental illness.
PMDD is real. It’s serious. And it deserves to be understood and supported.
I'm absolutely not a runner but will be running (jogging...) 100km in April to raise money for Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa.
Thank you for supporting!💛
