Running a marathon to raise awareness for organ donation, and support kids in need of medical support. Every step counts.
Auckland
This year, I, Karan Sawhney, am running a marathon—not just to test my endurance but to honor a cause deeply personal to me. Recently, I made the life-changing decision to donate part of my liver to my father, hoping to give him a second chance. Sadly, despite the surgery and our hopes, I lost him.
The grief was overwhelming, but through the pain, I discovered a strength I didn’t know I had. Recovering from major surgery while coping with loss taught me that even in the darkest times, we can rise above our challenges.
Now, I’m running in memory of my father—to prove that we can overcome anything life throws at us. But I’m not running for myself alone. For every kilometer I complete, I will donate to support organ donation awareness and help kids needing medical support.
I invite you to join me in this mission. Your donations, no matter how small, can make a huge difference. Together, we can raise awareness about the transformative power of organ donation and provide hope to patients and families facing difficult journeys.
Let’s make each step count, spread hope, and give life, even in the face of loss. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
