Fundraising for Effective Altruism NZ Charitable Trust
Nationwide
On October 16th I will be running 100km in the Taupo Ultramarathon. Inspired by the Effective Altruism movement, I am raising money for the Against Malaria Foundation which provides bednets primarily in sub-saharan Africa. I have chosen the AGF because:
1) They are incredibly effective with between $3000-$5000USD preventing one death from Malaria
2) Their effectiveness is backed by high quality evidence with randomized control trials and recommended by Givewell
3) The burden of Malaria is huge with 400,000 deaths every year which could be prevented with more well-funded prevention programmes

Thank you for your support. nb. I will match the 5% fee that givealittle takes so 100% pf your donation will be going to bednets!
Blonde for Bednets 18 October 2021
As anyone who work in the hospital can tell, I have dyed my hair blonde as I said I would if we reached the fundraising goal. Now that the race is postponed I think we've got a little more time to raise even more :)!
