Celebrating Dad’s life today is made even more special and a little less sad knowing that we were able to donate over $5,500.00 to the Cranford Hospice.

I started this morning with a meeting with Abbie from the Cranford Hospice. Our conversation was about Dad’s story and what motivated me to fundraise for this incredible cause. Fundraising for the Hospice was a no brainer after seeing the selfless love and care Dad’s hospice nurse, gave him during his last days and right up until his last breath. The whole team not only supported Dad but also our whole family. Within hours of Dad’s diagnosis the Hospice were in contact with him and they were there to guide us through our journey over the next 6 days, during a time where we were completely all over the place. We were offered access to a grief counsellor, we’ve received cards and messages after Dad’s passing, the Hospice made a stressful and traumatic time that little bit more easy on us all. The donation’s you all gave and that we were able to make today in Dad’s name, means that the Cranford Hospice in Hawkes Bay can continue to provide this support to other people and other families during this difficult time.

I can not thank each and every one of you beautiful, kind, amazing, generous human’s enough for your donations and your ongoing messages of love and support!

Happy 65th birthday, boy. Wish you were here ❤️

One more week to go and I officially have less than 10km to go, down to the final 8.66km and looking forward to gift all of your generous donations on the 10th of August and celebrate the amazing team at the Cranford Hospice and celebrate Dad’s 65th birthday.

I received the below message earlier in the week from the team at the Cranford Hospice who have been following my journey and wanted me to share how grateful they are to all of you for your generous donations. They assured me that the donation we make on the 10th August “will make sure we can keep nurses out in the community supporting our patients and their whānau at the time they need it most … free of charge!” 🧡
