You might not have realised, but today, 1st of July, is day #183 of the year 2020, and it's bang in the middle of it.
You can count on me to keep an eye on such boring matters as I run everyday this year raising funds for Mental Health Foundation NZ.
I haven't posted since day #100 so an update is in order.
It's a pretty full on year so far isn't it?
I hope you had a good lockdown. It was great running in the middle of deserted avenues, crossing streets without hardly looking left and right (kids, don't do that, it's baaaaad). When cars came back, I had to quickly get used to the traffic again...
Unfortunately, at the end of May, I suffered an injury and sprained my left hamstring. Foolishly I tried to run still, thinking it would go away, but it caught up with me and I had to stop running for about 3 weeks. I walked the distance during that time, even if I don't add that to the tally of kms.
As I banked kilometers running over 5km/day on many occasions since January, I was able to use them while I was recovering.
I am now running again as usual.
In other news, I ended up in the newspaper, (Hawkes bay today) about two weeks ago, as I got interviewed about the half marathon in september and how I train for it. It was a great way to promote the fundraiser.
