I'm running the HB Half Marathon to raise funds for Parkinson's HB - my goal is to raise $2000 and run it in under 2 hours.
Hawke's Bay
My mum, Wenz, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease over 20 years ago, a progressive illness with no cure. She is the most inspirational and positive person I know, never giving up without a fight, even after a fall last year which has left her permanently losing the use of her right arm.
I’ve started this Give A Little page to raise funds for Parkinson’s HB which provide Wenz and so many others in the area with ongoing local support, advice and services.
In 2017 I ran my first half marathon and raised $1600, this donation went towards new equipment for the Parkinson's weekly Strength & Balance classes in Hawkes Bay.
My previous half marathon times have been 2.11hrs, 2.09hrs and 2.07hrs, I am desperate to break this 2 minute trend! My goal is to finish this year’s HB Half Marathon in under 2 hours, maintaining this number 2 theme, I am aiming to raise $2000 for Parkinson’s.
Raising these funds will not only help local Parkinson's patients but also help motivate me to smash my PB.
Any contributions no matter how small will be hugely welcomed.
Bring on race day 18th May!
I want to support and help provide opportunities for people with Parkinson's like my mum.
